Summary:
Four individuals have been sentenced to a combined total of nearly 15 years' imprisonment following the MHRA's Operation Lamborghini investigation, which dismantled a multimillion-pound criminal network responsible for the unlawful online supply of controlled drugs, prescription-only medicines and unauthorised medicinal products. The investigation linked the group to almost two million doses of medicines, including diazepam, codeine and zolpidem, which were supplied without appropriate clinical oversight, placing patients at significant risk. The MHRA has highlighted the case as an example of its ongoing commitment to tackling medicines crime and protecting public health, urging people to obtain medicines only through legitimate, regulated sources and to report suspected counterfeit or illegally supplied medicines via the Yellow Card scheme.
