Summary: This edition marks the retirement of Dr Ivo Claassen, Head of EMA's Veterinary Medicines Division, who reflects on the successful implementation of the Veterinary Medicines Regulation and the opportunities ahead for innovation and reducing regulatory burden. Key updates include a new IRIS process for notifying changes to centralised product contact persons, the extension of the EU-US Mutual Recognition Agreement to veterinary medicines, eliminating duplicate batch testing for eligible imports from the US, and a revised guideline on maximum residue limit evaluations for biological substances. The newsletter also highlights improvements to the Union Product Database (UPD), including expanded access for the UK competent authority in respect of Northern Ireland, enhanced product information and an extended public user survey. In addition, EMA announces the second edition of the One Health Compass newsletter, a new website translation feature, details of the 6th Veterinary Big Data Stakeholder Forum and several open public consultations on veterinary medicines guidance.
