Summary: This UK Government publication sets out the MHRA’s strategy and expectations for improving cyber security resilience across the medicines and medical devices supply chain. It highlights the increasing reliance on digital systems, from manufacturing execution systems to cloud services and suppliers, and the corresponding need to manage cyber risk proactively. The guidance explains how the MHRA is working with industry partners to adopt risk-based cybersecurity practices, share threat intelligence, and support smaller organisations to strengthen their cyber defences. It also outlines the regulator’s own governance and assurance frameworks, emphasising collaboration with national cyber security authorities and alignment with broader UK standards and regulations. The goal is to reduce vulnerabilities that could disrupt supply, compromise product quality or patient data, and undermine public confidence.
