Summary: The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has published a summary of its National AI Commission "Ask Me Anything" webinar, which gave patients, the public and healthcare stakeholders an opportunity to question Commission leaders directly about the future regulation of artificial intelligence in healthcare. Discussions focused on key themes including patient safety, transparency, accountability, data privacy and the importance of maintaining meaningful human oversight when AI is used in healthcare settings. The event forms part of the Commission's wider engagement programme, which is gathering evidence and public perspectives to inform recommendations for a new UK regulatory framework for AI in healthcare. The Commission's findings from its research and engagement activities are expected to be published shortly and will help shape future MHRA policy and guidance.
