Summary: The MHRA is inviting expressions of interest from NHS providers and AI medical device manufacturers to participate in the London Region I regulatory sandbox. The initiative, delivered in partnership with NHS England (London) and the London Health Innovation Networks, will provide a controlled environment for testing AI-enabled medical devices in real-world clinical settings under regulatory oversight. The programme aims to generate robust evidence on safety and effectiveness while helping innovative technologies reach patients more quickly. Selected participants will collaborate to deploy AI solutions across NHS organisations, supporting evidence-led adoption and future regulatory decision-making.
