The joint HMA/EMA Big Data Steering Group workplan aims to increase the utility of big data in medicine regulation. A new workplan, extended to March 2023, is now available. It covers a wide range of aspects, such as data quality, discoverability and standardisation, methodologies, data governance and decision-making. The work plan is patient-focused and guided by advances in science and technology; it is reviewed annually to address new emerging topics and will support delivery of both the EMA Regulatory Science Strategy to 2025 and the Network Strategy to 2025.
