This year's conference is being held at ICC, Belfast. The Programme Committee are still finalising the programme for the event, however booking is available if you wish to secure your early bird place. The programme will be focused around 'Breaking the Ice: Exploring the Depths of Quality' which is our conference theme for 2023.

SPEAKERS

Chrissy Cochran, FDA

Chrissy J. Cochran, PhD is Director of the Office of Bioresearch Monitoring Operations at the FDA and is responsible for working with each of FDA’s product centres to manage the BIMO programme. Her staff conduct inspections of clinical and nonclinical facilities to ensure trial participants are protected and the data used to support FDA decisions is reliable. Dr. Cochran holds a PhD in Toxicology and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry.

Sir Prof Jonathan Van-Tam

Jonathan Van-Tam is a public health specialist with a clinical background in emergency medicine, anaesthesia, and infectious diseases. He is an expert on respiratory viruses and pandemics and is currently Pro Vice-Chancellor, Faculty of Medicine, and Health Sciences, at the University of Nottingham. His career has also taken him to Public Health England, the World Health Organization, and the pharmaceutical and vaccine industries. Jonathan was seconded to the Department of Health and Social Care as Deputy Chief Medical Officer. He is well-known for his leadership role during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly his straight, no-nonsense, communication style from the podium at number ten Downing Street, and for the acquisition and rollout of vaccines and antiviral drugs in the UK. Jonathan received a knighthood from Her Majesty the Queen in her New Year’s Honours List, for services to public health. He has also been awarded the Royal Society’s Attenborough Award and Lecture for outstanding public engagement in science.

Roshan D'Souza

Roshan is currently the head of Quality Data Analytics and Operations at Roche's Pharma Development Quality organisation. An engineer by education, he began his career as an R&D engineer designing telecom solutions deployed in the Indian Railways. He moved to the UK in early 2000 joining Roche as a software and data analyst, and has worked in various leadership roles within product development IT and Quality. The utilisation of data through analytics in order to drive meaningful business outcomes has been a common thread since he started his career at Roche and that passion continues today with an aim to significantly transform Quality Assurance through advanced analytics.

Iain Searle

Iain Searle, Director of Training Strategy, Europe, Veeva Systems Iain is a senior Learning, Quality Management and GCP professional with 25 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He began his career in R&D Clinical Development then spent 17 years in training, quality and process roles for global CROs, before moving to Veeva in 2022. In his role as Director of Training Strategy, he is responsible for supporting the strategy around Veeva’s Learning Management System offering.
